Heavy-duty Explorer bash plates for under-axle leaf spring setups with added shock mounts. Provides U-bolt protection and added rock armor. Fits axle housings from 2.75″ up to 4.0″ diameter.
U-Bolt Protection and Shock Mounts in One Assembly
Bash plates on a leaf spring truck serve two functions: protect the U-bolts and spring perch area from rock strikes, and provide a mounting surface for components that live near the axle. The GIANT MotorSports Explorer Bash Plates with Added Shock Mounts do both — heavy-duty protection for the under-axle hardware, with integrated shock mount locations that are properly gusseted and positioned for bypass shock fitment.
Built for under-axle (spring-under) leaf spring setups where the spring and U-bolts are fully exposed below the axle housing.

How to Measure Your Axle Housing Diameter
Measure the outside diameter of the axle tube at the spring perch location — not at the axle end and not at the center section. If you are between sizes, call 714-265-1450 and we will confirm the right fit for your specific axle.
Compatible Applications
Designed for the 91-01 Ford Explorer rear axle in spring-under configurations. Also fits other applications with compatible housing diameters including Dana 44 and Ford 8.8. Call to confirm fit on non-Explorer axles before ordering.
