What Raising the Pivot 4\” Actually Does
The factory I-beam pivot height on 80-96 F-150 and Bronco trucks was optimized for stock beam width and stock travel. Add wider beams or more coil-over stroke, and the factory pivot geometry starts working against you: wheel scrub increases, the shock cycles through a shorter effective stroke, and suspension stress concentrates incorrectly.
Raising the pivot point 4\” corrects all of this simultaneously. Wheel scrub decreases for more usable travel. The 14\” shock cycles efficiently through its full stroke. Suspension stress distributes more evenly. Steering geometry through the travel arc becomes more controlled. Up to 19\” of wheel travel.
