Getting 19″ of Travel Out of a Leaf Spring Rear

Most leaf spring setups on a stock F-150 are built around packaging constraints — short springs, limited shackle travel, spring mounted above the axle. The GIANT MotorSports 64″ kit throws out those constraints. Moving the spring below the axle adds 7″ of usable spring length, and the 17″ of free arch built into the kit delivers 8–10″ of droop beyond ride height — enough to keep the rear tires planted through aggressive terrain — and up to 19″ of total wheel travel.

Springs: Order from Deaver

Leaf springs, bushings, and U-bolts are sourced separately from Deaver Spring Co. and are not included. Deaver builds custom packs — bring them your spring length (64″), your truck loaded weight, and what you are building for, and they will spec the right rate. Running a spring that is too soft for your loaded weight blows through travel; too stiff and you lose the droop you paid for.

Shock Options

This kit is compatible with the Link Killer Shock mounting system. A 3.25″ Solid Shock Co. bypass shock in the under-bed mount position allows the kit to reach its full 20″ travel potential. A 4.0″ shock is available for more aggressive builds. Call to confirm shock fit for your specific F-150 configuration before ordering.

Ford F-150. The Bronco and Ranger have their own separate kits with geometry specific to each chassis — do not substitute.

Installation Notes

Frame mounts weld on. Pinion angle is the critical setup step after converting to spring-under — plan to dial this in carefully before driving at highway speed.
