The Prismatic Beam Design — Why It Is Stronger Than Tubing
Most I-beam designs use a round or square tube as the primary structural member with plates welded on. The GIANT MotorSports Ranger I-Beam Long Travel Kit uses a patented all-plate prismatic design — three 3/16\” plates joined in a single welded pass to form a triangular cross-section. No tubing required.
The prismatic shape resists bending in the critical direction (lateral loads from cornering and impact) more efficiently than a tube of equivalent weight. The single-pass weld joining the plates is a continuous weld — not a series of plug welds or tacked seams that can propagate cracks under cyclic loading.

Dana 44 Spindle
