Axle Truss – Weld It Yourself
$550.00
Weld-it-yourself axle truss to prevent axle bending and center section separation. No axle preload required before welding. Fits most common rear axles — Dana 35, Dana 44, Dana 60, Ford 8.8, GM 11.5, Sterling, and more.
Keep Your Axle Straight Under Load
Axle bending and center section separation are real failure modes on rear axles that see significant off-road loads — especially leaf spring setups where the spring pads are offset from the center section and create a bending moment under hard acceleration or heavy lateral loads. The GIANT MotorSports WIY Axle Truss distributes those loads across a larger area of the housing, reinforcing the axle against both bending and the tube-to-center-section joint that cracks or separates over time.
Key design advantage: no axle preload required before welding. Some truss designs require intentionally bending the axle before welding to pre-tension the truss — a step that is easy to get wrong. This design installs straight.
What Is Included
- Precision-cut axle truss plates (WIY)
Compatible Axles
Fits all cased center rear axles: Dana 35, Dana 44, Dana 60, Ford 8.8, GM 10-bolt, GM 12-bolt, GM 11.5, Sterling, and more. An offset version is also available for front axle applications. Call 714-265-1450 to confirm for unusual axle configurations before ordering.
Front Axle Version
An offset front axle truss version is available for applications where the differential is offset in the housing (as on most front axles). Specify front or rear application when ordering.
Installation Notes
MIG or TIG weld-on. Clean the axle housing thoroughly before fitting — rust, paint, and grease all compromise weld quality on a structural component. No preload required; position, tack, confirm fit, then weld fully. Full penetration matters here.
